Although Hamburg is around 100 kilometres away from the North Sea, it is strongly connected to the water: the port of Hamburg and the Elbe river flowing through, marks the center of the city with the surrounding neighbourhoods of old industrial buildings or trade houses which are now converted into living appartments. Wherever you go, the water is not far away.
